Growing behind Chickens
« on: August 11, 2011, 10:44 »
I have 4 (possibly 6) spots in the garden that my semi mobile run can be placed in.
I intend to move it once a month.  This gives me a roughly 3 month gap in which I can grow some veg on the fertilised de pested soil.

Obviously too late for anything now, but does anyone have any thoughts on what could be grown next year, and when?  Remember, it needs planting and harvesting in 3 months.
We use chemicals in this garden, just as god intended

i keep chickens and feed them lots of beet leaf and chard. you could try that, it'll appreciate the chicken-manured ground too. anything leafy will.

Cool.
Does leafy include stuff like lettuce and cabbage?

Idealy, I want stuff that can just be sown directly, broadcast would be even better.

Things like lettuce grow happily in a shaded spot, so why not try broadcasting a few seeds.  :)
