My ducks have taken to dropping their egss everywhere, they started laying and hiding them under the straw in their stable but now lay on the grass etc.  Will they use a nest box, or any other ideas please?

Most ducks lay on the floor in their shed  and 90 odd % of them lay before 9.30 am. Thats why you should keep their shed really clean and give them lots of clean bedding where they can lay their eggs. Its also why they should be kept in untill they have laid, otherwise they will just drop them where they stand.

They are always kept clean and have lot of fresh straw for bedding.  

I just have one duck who seems to lay in the afternoon, they are not there when I go up  at lunchtime but at 4ish there is one in the grass just by the gate.  Maybe its because she is so young and still learning

Ours just aboandone their eggs anywhere, you know with ours that they are going broody when they start hiding them.

lock em in till 10am and they will soon find a routine   pains in tha butt tho aint they
