A well seasoned allotmenteer told me this week that the rabbits are eating his beetroot and that they become addicted to them,possibly becauase of the sugar content.I found a half eaten beetroot on my row today and don`t really think that it`s rabbit....no rabbit,no droppings,or are they stealthy and wise enough to eat my plants when I`m not there and leave the plot to relieve themselves??

I am also fighting off a very persistent mole or more ....although I hear they live alone except in the spring.

Is there anything about vegetable gardening thats actually EASY and effortless?

I found a half chewed beetroot yesterday but only because I left the Enviromesh off them during our open lotty afternoon     You'll have to keep them covered up if you want to keep the rabbits and/or rats off them

Moles are harder to discourage

ahhhhhhh,rats,now there`s something I haven`t seen but they would easily have access,they can climb and jump better than a rabbit.....my allotment is well fenced,which is why rabbit seems wrong.Thanks compostqueen, for yet another creature I shall be thinking of outwitting in the coming years!!
