Ok, not very happy, ordered 12 miniature bearded silkie eggs, only one hatched and it is a Polish!
Can any body tell me what colour it will be, it has a cream tuft on its head and is cream with dark brown horizontal thick stripes. Not sure it will survive as it is a very weak chick!

Wont be buying of that supplier again, second batch of eggs I have had with a very poor hatching rate, yet other eggs from other suppliers have hatched no problem.

did you order them through the mail? If so did you leave them to settle? For how long?
Eggs travelling through the post often get shook up even when marked fragile eggs in transit so no egg is guaranteed after travelling through the mail.

Have you contacted the seller regarding the wrong type of breed?

Hi, yes I let the eggs settle for 24 hours before putting 6 under broody and 6 in bator. I know the postal journey can really shake eggs up but all the eggs I have had this year have been through the post and have had at least a 50 - 90% fertility rate.
This was a replacement batch because the fertility in the first batch was so poor, I say replacement batch I still paid for 6 of the eggs and the postage and received 6 foc by way of compensation. The fertility in this batch was even worse, only 3 fertile, all other eggs totally clear not even a blood spot, and only one hatched, a polish
Supplier seemed to find it amusing that the only hatchling was a polish, didnt even apologise and only offered to refund £6 postage, think she saw me coming.
Never mind I will mark it up to experience and not buy from them again.
Shame, she has some really nice stock.
