Hi,

So I've had the electric poultry netting up for a month or so now and it all seems to be working as it should.

It does earth itself where the bottom of the net touches a bit of vegetation or raised ground and I've decided that I'm never going to get it completely perfect.
Every time I fix one bit I can hear it earthing a couple of ft further along and if it's raining heavy then it's earthing itself all over the place.

I spoke to the supplier and he said it's pretty much normal unless the ground is perfectly flat and maintained like a bowling green.

So it's fine, I've touched it and it definitely works. I certainly wouldn't be inclined to be persistent if I was trying to get through it.

However, I'm wondering about winter and when we have a couple of ft of snow on the ground?

Surely it will be earthing all the way along and also some way up the wires?

The battery won't last very long at all and neither will it be much of a jolt if that's the case, and at a time when fox face is most determined and hungry too.

Am I right? Do these nets work in the snow or do I need to be thinking about other arrangements for the winter months?
