Help!
« on: July 11, 2011, 10:40 »
I got allocated my allotment plot 3 weeks ago and have finally got round to planting this weekend  :) I did it in 4 sections so we can rotate each year and then the second time I went up there with more things to plant I noticed I forgot my book (my bible!) with where everything needs to go and ended up planting the beetroot in the 'Peas and Beans' section and I put the Lettuce in with the 'Brassicas' would you go back and pull them out and 'swop' them over to their correct locations or leave it now and see how it goes?
Thanks!!

It's your first year so i wouldn't be too hard on yourself/critical about where you put things.

I would leave them all where they are this year and plant everything else where it's suposed to go according to your plan.

Just try and stick to it as well as you can and the few you have in at the moment will make very little if any difference.

Crop rotation is good practice and aids in stopping neutrient depleation in the soil and pest build so don't worry and enjoy.  ;)

Beetroot and salad aren't really particular to a certain part of the rotation, they can slip in wherever you want them to and have room.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
