here you go jay better late than never, T
Thanks a million Shaun.
That is definately the next project.
Can`t get out into the garden as I sink a couple of inches into the wet. We have also got the first snow on the top of a couple of the Munros (mountains over 3000ft) facing us. It won`t last but it tells me that winter is around the corner. Still it`s been the best summer ever that I can remember in the N W Highlands..........Veg have been fantastic. Can`t win em all.

... and the worst one ever in the N E Highlands!  Strange.

We also had some hailstones in the last few days and unseasonable cold (has been the same since end April though)

Yesterday did wonder if it was hail on the tops and this morning there was more on Ben Atow so the jury is still out as to hail or snow.

 do you ever need to?

Dunno where Ben Atlow is but Onich nr Fort William, for example, gets just under 2 metres of rain annually (78 inches in the old money).

Had to do a lot this year early on...Not now!

Dunno where Ben Atlow is but Onich nr Fort William, for example, gets just under 2 metres of rain annually (78 inches in the old money).

We are at Shiel Bridge 15 miles east of Kyle of Lochalsh and Ben Attow is the Munro I can see close by from my window.
Can`t grow outdoor tomatoes and the chillies, under cover
haven`t yet began to form...probably too late now. All the leafy things grow wonderfully as do broad beans, carrots runner beans etc etc but just you wait until i get my polytunnel up next year.... :
Will probably be seeking more advice & asking more questions.
Oh I have sent for the porcelain garlic...it`s on it`s way. Will have to wait for a bit of dry weather to plant that is if it ever stops raining.

Lannie has just seen the piccy and slapped me for not living there.
Is that a sea loch? Just imagine I'm on the beach fishing for cod, Lannies digging a few spuds. Real fish and chips 8)

Yes a sea loch.  Lose the sun for 6 weeks in winter due to the high pass at the side of the house...lo[CODE]ts of rain and midgies in summer (apart from this year) but fresh mackrel and occasional herring from the loch in season, the wild life and the view...wouldn`t live anywhere else .
P S Don`t tell Auntie about the pine martens.......they like an occasional chicken given the chance! I keep them well supplied with peanuts and the odd egg to keep them happy and away from the chickens.

Watch the picture closely. The pine marten's tongue is sticking out in anticipation of the food, lol. How sweet!

Managed to get a very small photo on but how do I make it bigger?
Will now spend the rest of the afternoon trying..it is raining after all and my better half is down on the beach getting yet more seaweed!
At last managed a larger picture.
The sun is now shining....wheelbarrow no 2 needs spreading but before that I need a fortified cuppa.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that beautiful view! You are trully blessed, even with 36 miles roundtrip to the super. Can you order fruit 'n' veg boxes? And, you could organise a farmers market for your area!

Not a chance of getting fruit and veg boxes...that`s why I just have to grow my own! The veg from the Co-Op always looks like it was picked a month ago!

It probably was. I was shocked when I read somewhere that some supermarket fruit and veg have been in storage for up to 9 months. So now, I only buy from farmers' markets, the box delivery scheme and grow my own (or pick windfall or fruit seemingly going to waste from the site. I ask first, don't steal, lol!).
