hellohah all, we have just got our first lotty and loving it so far, we have been lucky and inherited 3 established fruit trees, however our cherry tree is planted right next to the gate we want to keep it but if possible we would like to move it to a better position on our plot - is this possible?
also we have inherited bind weed, everything i have read so far tells me it is a * to get rid of and just wondering if any of you out there have some top tips on how to conquer?

I think it depends on how big the cherry tree is as to the possibility of moving it.

Bindweed.  .  .  .Just keep digging !   Luckily the roots are briliant white (but break easily) so are easy to see and remove.   Perseverence by the bucketful is what you need !   Cheers,   Tony.

the tree is fairly large, 5 foot i think maybe a bit more or less, the diameter of the trunk at the base is around 6/7 inches.

I would not move the tree. With that trunk it's probably have been kept at that hight even if a semi-dwarf variety. Old enough it should be.

And keep digging and planting. Enjoy.
