Strawberry thief
« on: June 14, 2011, 21:11 »
I thought it was mice taking my strawberries but it's not, I think it must be squirrels. I haven't seen them do it but today I noticed holes in the netting that weren't there before, so I think the little toads are just biting through it to get to the fruit. Even if I used an actual fruit cage rather than netting on canes, they're usually just bird netting so that wouldn't be any better. I'm not even sure chicken wire would stop them. Anyone know of a way to keep them off?

No, sorry.  They have been chewing (very effectively) the lead on the roof of my neighbour's bird table ...  ::) ???
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

They have been stealing my strawberries, stealing the birds fat balls, and wrecking the felt on hubby's workshop roof  :tongue2:
But at least they haven't found a way into the loft for a while  ::)

Maybe I should leave my lurcher in the veggie plot, bet that'd stop them :)

A lead euthanasia delivery tool usually stops em in their trax,of course you will only be trying to
knock some sense into em but the inevitable casualities will happen..... ::)
