Gas masks on...
« on: June 14, 2011, 19:43 »
If anyone comes close to Plot Growster in the next twenty-four hours, there's a mixture of nettle tea, comfrey tea and 6X tea to cope with...

By the cringe, that is strong...

There really is a huge ache coming from the plot folks...

This morning, I filtered a few pints of Comfrey water, to add to the main barrel of laughs, and will stand well back after that...

The toms and leeks have really benefited from the - mainly - 6X liquid, and the runners and broads seem to like the nettle tea as well.

It's nice to splash it all over (Sorry 'Enery - we really do miss you) and know that it's cost pennies, where the made up stuff just burns a hole in one's pocket!

I must design a 'trouser filter'...

Actually, you can make a cheap filter from a handfull of plastic netting stuffed in an old decapitated milk bottle; it works well, and you can wash it afterwards - probably with the trousers...

...not...

What's 6X, if you don't mind my asking?

No probs Kajazy!

6X is a concentrated manure sold in bags for about a tenner or so.

It's often discussed on this site, and here's one link - just copy and paste it into your browser line!

http://chat.allotment-garden.org/index.php?topic=53711.0;topicseen

It is good stuff - if a bit pricey, but you don't need to use very much at a time, and as I was advised some time ago, it makes a very good liquid manure for watering in! I use it all the time, and can vouch for it as long as it is used correctly and sparingly!

The main website is here : - http://www.6-x.co.uk/gardening.htm

Don't take too much notice of the banter about Wadsworths 6X - that's a very fine beer...
