The lavender poots are about 15 days old now and probably double their hatch size, definitely Jurassic descendent so the question now is, how soon can they be sexed?

The Dutch bantams are tiny in comparison although one, the smallest, seems to have it's wing feathers :blink:

well last year we could sex the poots by the age of 4 weeks - the boys had definate bigger combs and wattles but this year the 3  lemon mf poots I have and are 5 weeks old all look the same so I am hoping they are all girls.
The other 19 poots I have which are about the same age as yours (maybe a few days younger) seem too tiny to tell. These ones are extremely tiny and the difference between 5 weeks and 2 weeks is enormous - perhaps the breeder used pullets rather than hens. Also 1 of my black poots is cleaned legged so bit baffled by that  .

One of our poots is clean legged too, strange and I'm sure one of the farm hatched ones is actually one of Andrews LMs

We bravely battled Star, my she's a good mum, and took loads of pics, hopefully they'll be ok and upload Top Dutch Bantam, bottom, Lavender or Lemon poot

Its about 18 days old now, it's on Eils knee, ignore her PJs  they're all about the same age, hatched over the 25th, 26th and 27th May.

The pic with them all in the basket shows how the poots are much bigger than the dutch bantams, if you can get it to enlarge

Didn't think they were old enough but any excuse to post pics of poots and tiny Dutch bantams my new second favourites because they're so tiny :happy:
