I only have one decent sized fruit on one of my chillies grown from seed this year. Apparently it's going to be hot, hot, hot  :D

Webby How can you not know the variety of pepper you're growing?  Shame on you  :D
I want to know everything about varieties I grow as I need chillies with varying degrees of heat for different culinary purposes.  I am a chilli anorak though

I've got 4 sweet pepper plants (2* Lany F1, Jolly Giallo & Orange Bell) and they all have at least 4 peppers on them and they are the biggest peppers Ive ever grown! Very please as they are coming out bigger than supermarket ones by far!

Overdone it on chilli plants as usual - Trinidad 7 Pot, Chocolate Hab *2, Orange Hab, Dorset Naga, Telica Jalepeno *2 (already harvested enough for one large jar of pickled jals), Hungarian Hot Wax, Cherry Bomb, Hot Lemon, Chilly Willy, Black Hungarian, Friars Hat, Golden Cayenne... been harvesting some of these for 3 or 4 weeks now.

I discovered the Greenhouse Sensation Chilligrows this year and (after starting them all off under lights in January) put 6 chillis into 2 chilligrows.... they have really grown into totally huge plants, so next year the Mrs has told me I can only grow 6 chillis as any more and the conservatory gets too overgrown... although I might grow more sweet peppers and try 3 in a chilligrow - purely for experimental purposes obviously ;)

I start mine off early as well mid Feb.  To leave time if any don't germinate.  My later sown ones are smaller.  I grow some in the flower bucket size as well. The flower pots are approx 10" across and 9" to 10" tall, and the other pots aren't much different.

The cold at night and strong winds are causeing a few probs though.

I'll have to try the Jolly Giallo.  Maybe I will grow one in the conservatory next year as opposed to all outside.

I can only tell you that the ones i selected had HOT on them. The hotter the better for me if i'm honest
It was my 1st go at doing them, so just bought some from a garden centre and went for it.
The shame is overwelming at this point - I'm sorry  :tongue2: :tongue2: :) :) :D :D

I should think so  :D  You have to trust that the label is in the right pot if you've not grown them yourself. You could have a dud in there that turns out to be lame   The pleasure in growing chillies is getting the ones you want

I got a bogey chilli last year though, a ringer, the one that caused me a great deal of pain.  Which is why if you grow your own, that you know the pedigree of, you know what you're dealing with. These very hot chillies are an accident waiting to happen.  You've been warned  :)
