Thank You Neighbour!
« on: May 30, 2011, 08:53 »
One of our neighbours is soon to move to pastures new. Yesterday he took me into his back garden and said help yourself to what you want............ I am now in possession of;
 paving slabs, which he kept as spares,
2 large wooden type barrel tubs,
assorted plastic tubs and pots,
several lengths of miniture picket fencing
Half a bag of unused compost.
Now where do I put them???????????????/ :D
Thank you Mr Neighbour and good luck in your new home!

I was lucky enough to be in a similar situation about ten years ago.A family that I was aquainted with who live a mile or two away were moving.When i went there to say my goodbyes.He offered me 3 pet lambs(ready for market),3500 roofing slates,300 8 x 8 inch ruabon red floor tiles(flogged to my builder brother in law for £4000) and five half barrels four of which were converted in to upholstered seats the fifth into a table(flogged them to a local golf club ).
I pointed out to the husband that if i did take them I would only sell them on but he said that he prefered I got them than the people that were moving in as they had been quite awkward apparently.I was in the process of renovating my cottage at the time and money was really tight but that bit of good luck paid for my kitchen and bathroom.I was walking around with a wide grin for days.

If he'd given you his shed as well, you'd have somewhere to put it all!  ;)

I did think that at the time as his shed would be ideal for the second plot of mine but alas he never offered. Now there's an idea ;) ;) GrannieAnnie most of the stuff is destined for the plots anyway.
Aunt Sally don't encourage her :tongue2: :lol: :lol:
