eating feathers is often a sign of lacking something in their diet. What food (including treats) are you giving her?

she has laying pellets , grit and corn in an evening with some lettuce and broccoli snacks , she started pecking the otyhers and just got worse , I sectioned her off and she just started pulling her own feathers out , she is looking like the first to lay as her crown is the reddest and I wondered if that had anything to do with it.. suggestions please

I'd cut out all treats and snacks, stick only to layers pellets, and if you have any you could grind up some dried soy beans to sprinkle on the top to bring the protein level up a bit

I have the same problem and some of my girls are looking quite scruffy, although they eat/lay well and their combs are bright red. They have organic layers grit, shell and greens in the afternoon. Should I cut out the greens aswell? I've been giving tuna cat food every ten days or so too, to increase their protein intake
