DWARF FRENCH BEANS
« on: May 10, 2011, 14:15 »
Hi All,
I'm new to vegetable growing (first year) and have a question regarding dwarf french beans.

Have grown from seed to approx 8" high in pots.
Planted out 2 weeks ago into a raised bed.
Weather was quite windy and leaves were flapping around so covered with a cold frame to protect from wind.

Noticed in the last few days that a few of the leaves are turning brown around the edge and some areas also yellow.

Any help on what this could be would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Captain.

Hi and welcome CAPTAIN! :D I'll move this to the growing board where more people who can help will see it. :)

Sounds like it's still too cold on a night to me, i had exactly the same thing happen to me a couple of years back, i sowed them way too early and they never did any good.

Hi CAPTAIN, I have had the same problem due to wind damage in the past. I simply took off any bady damaged leaves and protected as much as possible until the wind died down.

I would also plant a few more directly into the ground just in case they fail completely.

Agreed.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
