Can  I just thank you wonderful people on this forum 

After her fox attack, Alice is now on anti-biotics twice a day in liquid form. I was a bit concerned about squirting it down her throat after reading about drowning birds this way, but came across a thread about making layers pellets into a porridge in the winter.

So this morning, armed with a flask of hot water and syringe, off I trotted to their run to make them both up a small pot of porridge, Alice's laced with drugs.

They loved it, and scoffed the lot, and I am now really hopeful that Alice will pull through.

She does doesn't she Carla  I'm really chuffed as it was bad enough loosing Dorcus, but two in one go would have been unforgivable.

I tried the layer pellet porridge on our hens, they do love it but it tends to give them larger than normal sloppy poos.  Going to keep it as a winter warmer for them when the weather is loads colder though.

Once this course of anti-biotics is over, then it will definitely only return as a winter warmer.
