Is it ok to give my hens porridge made with water someone recomended it as they give it to theirs. And what scraps do people give them, as in left over cooked food?

It is normal here to supplement grain with crusca (bran) made into a paste with warm water.  I'm doubtful of the nutritional value, but they love it and they look healthy enough.  I wouldn't switch to using it solely, but it does them no harm.

Poridge is high energy.  Good on winter afternoons to keep them warm through the night.
