Whilst visiting a garden centre yesterday there were used trays of 10x18 i.e. 180 plugs free - the unused ones they were selling for c. £2. I took 2 of the used ones but I now wonder what can I use them for next year! I normally use the larger sized plugs 7x12 which are really useful to start off my onion sets. Are the smaller sized plugs worth using (if so what for) or will the seeds need potting up very shortly after germinating?
