We have bought oyster shell for the chickens. Should we also provide standard grit for them?

yes grit is used to grind the feed down whereas the oyster shell is to provide calcium. If they free range they can also get their grit from scratching around on the ground
Staffies are softer than you think.

I'd agree with Joy and generally it's best to provide it seperately otherwise they will use Oystershell which they can use in their gizzards for grinding food.  If they they have oystershell without access to insoluable grit they may overdose on calcium by using oystershell to grind up their food.
