Haven't tried it but have read a bit about rock dust additions.

They are not a fertiliser in any way, shape or form.  As far as I know they are used to supply trace elements in man-made soils / composts.

Google the Seer Dust web site whiskey-golf. Seems quite impressive stuff.
Thought it might be good for my sandy soil.

As I thought, for mineralisation.  Yes, if you were on peat but your sandy soil should have stacks of minerals - your soil will most likely be wanting humus and nutrients.  In short, manure and/or compost
