BedXcel?

Has anyone tried this?  It's small squares of 100% recycled corrugated cardboard, fully dust extracted and bio-degradable.  Only £3.50 for 45 lt bag.  :)

don't know how it would be once it has chicken pooh on it - might be a horrible soggy mess and difficult to clean out. Still have never tried it so who knows  ::)
The little hollow tubes though could provide a little hidey hole for red mite  :(
Staffies are softer than you think.

I've seen it used as horse bedding and it *stinks* when it's dirty and wet.  It is also heavy and not very absorbant, so you get a skum of liquid underneath it (obviously more of a problem for horse who pee - unlike chickens ;)

It just looked as if would be quite cosy in the nest box, and they shouldn't make a mess in there anyway, should they? ::)  Will buy some tomorrow and see if the girls like it  :D

Thats where I was going to put it instead of straw. The girls don't poo hardly where they lay eggs.
