Hi ,
we have just started to share an allotment one side is chickens ducks and geese and we have the other side for veg. What i need to know is the weeds and stinging nettles im cutting can the birds eat them. The other day the geese were eating them from a pile i had made.

I throw all the weeds from my allotment in the chickens pen and they love them!

Don't give them ragwort if you have any.  feathery looking plant with small yellow flowers.

but other stuff, they usually know what they like and what they don't.  Dandelions and chickweed are the favourites.

Sticky couch grass always goes down well and ours love ground elder (yippee! ).  Maybe best to avoid unwanted plants like foxglove - they'll all be drugged with digitalis, if you're not careful .

Dandelions and groundsel too, are hot favourites. c
