potatoes from your compost heep

Do you have a mound of well rotted compost ,or bags of the stuff waiting to be spread on your plot,at the end of the season, well make them work for their keep,I have found that if you plant a few chitted potatoes in it by the time you come to spread it on the soil, you,ve got some lovely potatoes growing in them. I pulled some beauties just before Christmas, they love the rich warm conditions in the compost
