My names on a list
« on: April 09, 2011, 19:06 »
I have spent today phoning round getting my name on the waiting lists for allotments I am now 24th on one list and 73rd on another.  :D :D :D :D :D

The one where I am 24th seemed very keen to help though so lets see. There is water available on this site too and you also get a small greenhouse and shed, plot sizes are 18ft by 12ft too....... :)

It's a waiting game now.

Bill

18' x 12' = 6 yds x 4 yds = 24 sq yds.

That is absolutely tiny.  A full plot is 300 sq yds ... what rent are they proposing to charge on that tiny plot?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

£45 per year. When you consider I only have about 7ft by 5ft in my garden it's a lot more than I have. :) :)

No MOS it's a site..

I hope you get to the top of the list soon Bill.  As you say, even a small plot is a lot bigger than you have at home.

I understand where people are coming from when you say the plot is small and it may be costing a lot more, there is just not a lot of plots available where I am so it's a case of beggars can't be choosers I suppose?

Also this Allotment site although down the road it is actually just outside my borough and as such I shouldn't even be getting considered there but I must have come across enthusiastic.  :D :D

Although it is only 18ft by 12tt if you add on my garden in that equation it should be an ideal size I can allocate my garden area permanently  to 2 or 3 different veg I.e Potatoes beans and sprouts. and use the bigger space for other veg.

I may not even get a spot at that allotment I have my name down on the other allotment and the lady I spoke to is also going to email me the details of the only allotment in my area. So you never know.

But at least my name is on the list.  :D :D :D
