My rosemary is over 20 years old and is vigerous every year. Not sure if you are all growing the same variety as mine, which is " Miss Jessop's upright". It will grow to 3 ot 4 feet high and can be used as a hedge whilst still being fine for cooking. it does seem very hardy and takes easily from cuttings.

But like 8doubles i think i might take a few cuttings this year just to be on safe side !

A couple of years back I tore three stalk from the Rosemary on my plot intending to take it home (roast lamb for dinner) but forgot it.

I had left it in a jar of water where it stayed for a few weeks through the baking heat of summer. Result = 3 new rosemary rooted cuttings. Easy.

Both of our potted rosemary plants bought it this winter. I thought I was just rubbish but after reading this thread I can blame the winter!

My three year old rosemary bush on the plot is a goner. As are all the cuttings I had going at home for friends and home growing. Sadly it means a fresh start for the rosemary all round this year, the mint is fine and sprouting with gusto ho hum.
