Strange one but here goes......

Our kids have two hamster cages, question is when we clean them out could i use the waste woodchip bedding in the compost heap. It does contain hamster 1's & 2's though??

Yes, it should be fine. I used to put the guinea pig waste in ours when we had them.

I understand that any 'waste' from vegetarian animals is OK to use... ( Saying that Chickens eat insects and we use that ) !

It works fine, just mix in some green waste (kitchen peelings, grass cuttings) and it will rot down well.  Garotta makes it rot down quickly if you are in a hurry.  We use rabbit and guinea pig waste in our bins as well as chicken manure and have used hamster bedding when we had hamsters
