had poorly bantams and they have been treated with Teramycin in their drinking water was wondering how long before we can eat the eggs???

Just checked on web and they are saying 4 days on egg withdrawal. It says that the residue sticks to calcium and as chicken feed is high in calcium it passes through their system quicker.I would give it 7 days just to be sure.

Oh OK thanks for that as have a weeks worth of eggs and was not sure about eating them - will leave it a while yet. By th eway why is it exactly that you should not eat th eggs?

Because it's not wise to ingest antibiotics when you don't actually need them. Terramycin is safe, it is or was used on humans. Not sure if it is used on humans now but it was when I was still in medicine.

You should phone the vet just to be sure.  they will be able to tell you over the phone :)
