Ooooh, the google images aren't helpful  :? . It looks like both sorrel and perpetual spinach, but like WG pointed out I didn't plant it. I'll take another pic tomorrow and post again..... Or I might taste as per Munty  :?

Trying organic gardening. Hoping to stick to it.

if it's on your plot it's pretty likely to be edible - I think its a cross between perpetual spinach and swiss chard, if not it's sorrel.  Does anyone in the plots surrounding you grow spinach and chard - if they do and they let it set seed the following year it'll pop up all over the place - mine does!
Gardening organically on chalky, stony soil.

It is..............

Sorrel!

I tasted it, and it was sour. Then took a leaf home and googled, and it's definitely sorrel. The leaf splits at the stem - sort of. Next day, I picked a handful along with rocket leaves and we made a salad - yummm! No need for lemon juice/vinegar. The zing is there already! And both me and Mr Jacnal are okay 2 days later.

I'll definitely look after it and keep it contained.
