:D  Hi everyone I have just started keeping hens ( the last 2 weeks) I have 4 Wanadottes and I think they are wonderful but everyday there seems to be another worry, Rachel the silver laced seems to be fine bright red comb etc. eats and drinks very well and is the boss of the 4 but the last couple of days these yellow wart like things have appeared on   comb, ear lobes and wattle. Can any one help me with this one please RTB.
I would like to hug you for as long as I am going to miss you

you need to inform your vet asap . and not allow anybody else who has   any birds to come into contact with yours

The disease can range from acute septicaemia to chronic and localised infections and the morbidity and mortality may be up to 100%. The route of infection is oral or nasal with transmission via nasal exudate, faeces, contaminated soil, equipment, and people. The incubation period is usually 5-8 days.

The bacterium is easily destroyed by environmental factors and disinfectants, but may persist for prolonged periods in soil. Reservoirs of infection may be present in other species such as rodents, cats, and possibly pigs.

Predisposing factors include high density and concurrent infections such as respiratory viruses.

Signs

Dejection.
Ruffled feathers.
Loss of appetite.
Diarrhoea.
Coughing.
Nasal, ocular and oral discharge.
Swollen and cyanotic wattles and face.
Sudden death.
Swollen joints.
Lameness.
you need to get antibiotics asap and a expect to lose the birds . if you wnt to you can pm me when you have done the above and i will help you with further advice on reducing the future risks

Did you check for Northern Mite, it could be that.  Symptoms in bad cases are: scabby comb, face and wattles.  They tend to gather around the vent and are grey/black.
