Daffodils
« on: February 26, 2011, 13:47 »
Hi

I very recently bought some daffodils and since I have had them the little bit of green poking out has started to turn yellow on the tip (definately the leaf and not the flower coming through). Any ideas why this might have happened and what I can do to make it feel better? It doesn't look very happy!

You didn't mention if they were in pots or in the ground. It makes a difference for how we can advise you.

If you bought them recently I assume they were growing bulbs already planted in a pot

If so the yellowing leaves could be overwatering or the bulbs themselves may be failing  You should be seeing flowers coming through pretty quickly on potted bulbs and its probably something that happened to your daffs before you got them.  Take them back to where you bought them and ask for a replacement or refund  ;)
