This morning I let the girls out and collected the early egg from Lara Croft (speckled). 

When I cam home from work there was one from Jane Russell (black rock) and one from Marilyn Monroe (light sussex)  AND yet another from an unknown vent: I only have 3!  The extra egg was intact but had a very soft shell.

Is everything alright with the girls? should I be concerned?  Can I eat the soft egg (scrambled)?

So many questions, so little time! Thanks in advance.

Are your hens just comping back into lay?  Or are just starting?  It's not uncommon to have this kind of blip when the laying machinery starts workig again.

Personally I wouldn't eat it, soft shelled eggs have little in the way of a barrier to bacteria.  If my hens lay softies I either feed them to the cats, or let then hens have them (breaking them upon ont he ground)

They have been laying again now for about 4 weeks but we've had a few blips - double yokers - not laying for a day - no shell egg or two.

I'll give them a bit longer to get into the swing of things!

One of my girls often lays two eggs in one day, I don't think its anything to worry about.
