One of my Welsummers is sitting on ten Welsummer eggs which I was given when she became broody.  On Wednesday she will have sat 21 days and I am hoping there will be the sqeak of tiny beaks.  Can anyone tell me when should I start feeding the chicks and when should I let them out with the other Welsummers.  Hope I'm not counting my chickens before they are hatched!!!!

they will survive for a day or two on the yoke from the egg. when they hatch put some chick crumbs in with them, in a shallow dish and water in a shallow dish with some clean stones so they cant drown.

mum will throw food at them and teach them all they need to know.

theres nothing else you need to do, mother nature will take care of it all

Thanks for your help Happyvalley. Good idea putting stones in the water container.
