« on: February 14, 2011, 10:26 »
Planted 5 last year, 2 large ones which were split to make 4 and one bought form diy shop.. seems only one lot has come up and it was the biggest of the cuttings.. So happy to see it poking out of the soil pinkish red.. Hope the others survive too.. What are the chances..
Please make yourself at home! Clean my kitchen...    A  good balanced diet is a piece of cake! In each hand.:)

Give it time, rhubarb is a tough plant that is very likely to have survived.

I planted some rhubarb from seed almost a year ago and - nothing.  Not so much as one little seedling!

I'll try planting crowns this year, I think!

We've had mixed success - the first one we bought from the garden centre may just have been a bag of mud, since nothing came up and we could subsequently not find anything where we planted it. However. last winter we planted a couple and they took a really really long time to show through in the spring - so long I had given up, but they're still with us and they poking through this year.

So keep the faith for a bit maybe?
