heavy egg

Probally a silly question but if some of my incubating chicken eggs are heavier than others in the incubator does that mean they have chicks inside, or is a developing chick too light to make a difference? just curious!

Interesting question which I can't answer, I'm afraid.  There is no such thing as a silly question.  I'm sure someone who can answer will be along shortly  :)

Its to do with the humidity.  The egg/embryo needs to lose a certain amount of weight/volume so there is space for the chick to hatch.  It may be that some of yours are too dry, or it may be that some have stopped developing making them feel heavier.
