It's generally recommened that you should minimise the number of introductions and their sources in a flock to reduce the risk of introducing disease so Casey's advice is spot on as usual. So individual chx at different times is by far the worse strategy.  So chocolate box picking is not a good way of doing it.

I have to agree with the majority. Get whatever once you fancy as there are so many beautiful and great chickens out there.
My favourite once are my rescue chickens. Got them from a free range egg farm and they are the cuddliest chickens ever! Dont know why though.
