Basking
« on: April 09, 2011, 14:39 »
I've just got back from the lottie, with the sun shining and the heat nearly cracking the flags :D.  I've weeded the rest of the bed that will have my peas in .  The first lot are starting to crack the surface.  I've planted my fennel in between the goosegog bushes and also planted my parsnips :D

And best of all, I've picked my first lot of asparagus and even better, my hubby has taken himself off to Germany with his daughter for the week, so I can have all the asparagus to myself  .  What makes it better is that he woke up this morning (they stayed over just outside of Lille in France) and it was really overcast - oh what a shame :nowink:

Know the feeling..! Woke up to a gorgeous, beautiful, sunny, warm day and OH has gone away for the day. Almost finished trimming my hawthorn hedges but I knew when I'd had enough. Now on the wine. You could always freeze the asparagus for when he returns....er...better fresh...don't want to waste it...lashings of butter or Hollondaise sauce...feet up with favourite DVD after all your hard work...why not..!  ::)
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Hi Mumofstig, I hear that every day at the office  as I run up and down stairs and its like as if I'm galloping - everyone knows me by sound :D.  The odd-job man Ernie (or Ern for short) always calls me Neddy.  Although now, he says to everyone that I should have either been shot years ago or been put out to pasture

Tee hee, my hubby is off to Germany tomorrow, he may be gone all week  :D
I have to work, but I can garden when I like, eat when I like, hold the remote control when I like  and have the whole bed to myself.
Sad isn't it
