Braod Bean Question
« on: January 17, 2011, 16:06 »
Hi as some of you know I moved plots this winter and I have inherited some autumn sown Broad Beans. Prior to the cold snap they we going great guns and I was very impressed.

Unfortunately they have gone all black and soggy since the freezing weather .

Will they recover or am I best just pulling them up.
They are on the left of the photo and to the right of the string line.

Thanks FB

Sorry to say..........

I think they've kicked the bucket,  shuffled off their mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!!

THEY ARE EX-BROAD BEANS!!

(Apologies to Mr. M. Python)

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks for the replies, it will be off with their heads tomorrow.
The area directly to their right where the black plastic is where my Carrots are going under Enviromesh. So it does mean a bit more space for the Carrots.

Snow is a good insulator, it's the unprotected and prolonged cold which did the damage.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
