It was rather unexpected but...

I got an Araucana egg!!!  They had only just come out of their moult in November, and we weren't expecting anything until at least february.  And here it is:  :D :D :D :D :D

on the last picture, the one on the left is my LF sussex.  She has never layed big eggs- they are weeny really!

That is sooo true. I even thank them when collecting eggs and say goodnight when closing the hatch in the evening. My neighbour thinks I'm a loon.
