I know what I'm going to grow this year and have most of the seeds, except carrots and parsnips. I am also going to read up lots on parsnips cos mine didn't germinate last year.

I am going to grow Jerusalem Artichokes (I love them and they DON'T give me wind   ), Celeriac and as many peas, french beans, leeks, onions, potatoes and swedes as I can.

I am going to overcrowd my turnips again (I had loads and they were pretty big too, they pushed away from each other on the ridge and were my best crop).

I am not going to overcrowd my beetroot (they're the size of my thumb nail and I planted them in April!).

I'm definitely going to grow Purple Queen French Beans, I planted them too early (cos I popped all 100 seeds into the one seed tray and they were all fighting for light) and they cropped fantastically, we kept picking and freezing them and they kept cropping.

Asparagus Peas - the most amazing find of 2010 IMHO. Crops for a really long time and you keep on picking them and they keep on coming. Pick them small and fresh and steam or boil them and then toss them in butter, yummmmmmmmmmmmmm!

We grew lots of peas in our garden, we picked them every day and ate them there and then, and there was still enough to freeze and we've still got lots now.

I'm definitely going to grow multi coloured carrots, cos my kids couldn't help themselves, lol, when I brought home yellow carrots and purple carrots they were gobbled down there and then! Going to try some red carrots too this year.

Also really pleased with the Pink Jumbo Banana Squash. We didn't get loads (about 8 in total) but they were the size of a rugby ball, some even bigger. I've never grown a big veg before (my pumpkins were a disaster) and I am so pleased with them, and they are storing really well.

Ooooooohhhh yes - you've got to grow sweetcorn Herbie.  Freshly picked off the plot it is the food of the gods  :D

I module sow beetroot - about 3 seeds in a cell and plant them out as clumps about 30cm apart.  They push each other out of the way to make lovely bunches you can pull up as and when you want them.  Easy to do and makes a really good use of space.  These are mine last year
