Hi i thought i had sewn the garlic but i didnt am changing the blonde to red next week. Is it too late to plant it now or should i plant it indoors and then plant out when the snow has gone lol

I think it's supposed to snow at the weekend (Newcastle) but I've heard garlic likes the cold anyway. I've planted some but I'm gonna plant more in Jan.

I was told by an "old boy" you sow on the shortest day of the year (21 Dec) and harvest on the longest day (21 June)  so no you're not too late

mine went in a few weeks ago and are standing 3 inches high already  But last year they went in in December and gave me a good crop

Or wait and plant it early Spring if your soil is cold and wet.

If you plant it now it may put out a few roots but you may not see green shoots until Spring.
