Late flowers
« on: October 29, 2010, 16:57 »
It is the end of October isn't it?

Picked a bunch of sweet peas today, they are a bit straggly but smell wonderful. :)

The runner beans are still in the ground as the lawn is so boggy we are trying to keep off it. They have put on a fair bit of growth lately and are flowering! After all the frost we had last week...................

They really are cold hardy plants, aren't they. I still have monkshood blooming away even though we've had some frosts.

Lovely Tosca!

I still have cosmos, snapdragons, odd lupin flower, nasturtiums, potentilla and a few stragglers of petunia.

Some of the wallflowers are restarting as are the aubretia.  ::)

I still have nicotiana going strong in the garden, and one cosmos plant that isn't quite straggly enough to justify being pulled up!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Had a proper look at the garden today and there are still flowers on a lot of things.
Roses, Geraniums...an explosion, stocks, fuschia, larkspur, viburnum, magnolia (a couple) cosmos, bedraggled Dahlia, miniature lilac, sweet peas, runner beans and lavender, which is acting really oddly, it keeps throwing out a few more flowers just when you think it's finished, honeysuckle.

My chrysanthemums are still going, from about May...they just won't stop.  Also still got rudbeckia, gaillardia, osteospermum, a few gazanias and some bidens, though they're looking a bit straggly.

Still quite a lot going on including cosmos. They surely can't possibly survive today's gales !!
