Oyster Shell Question
« on: November 10, 2010, 11:23 »
Morning fellow chicken lovers, our oyster shell has just been delivered. It's all crunched up into small pieces (as I expected) but I'm not quite sure what to do with it.  Where abouts should I be putting it? In the layers mash? In the pellets? In a separate container?

put it in a separate container and your girls will help them selves as and when they need it. They don't need much so chances are you won't see them eating any  ::)

I put the oyster shell in a plant pot and wire it to the mesh of the run and it is always there so they can get it when wanted. I do the same thing with the grit and it always works well.

Thankyou! I've just done it, with all three of them running and rosey around my legs and trying to peck at my wellies :-)
