Allotment storage
« on: November 05, 2010, 13:42 »
OK so we've just taken delivery of our first allotment. Not huge but it will do! But where do we store our tools? There is a size restriction for plots our size that limits the size to a tool box 6' x 2' x 2'. Plastic boxes seems too flimsy and wooden boxes are never the right size. Anyone got any ideas please? The alternative is I strap the tools to the cat and let her carry them to the site every day! I'm not sure RSPCA would be too happy. ???

Cheap (or better still free) pallets seems to be the way to go.  Dissasemble and build into a chest.   Cheers,   Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

most of the chaps with very small starter plots have made tool boxes by banging 4 posts into the soil and plank the sides up. Make a hinged top and problem solved ;)

and yes the wood is usually pallet wood

It all depends what you put into the ground, to what you get out
