Funny tasting egg
« on: October 27, 2010, 09:10 »
One of my 23wk old hybrids (I don't know which) is laying eggs that taste sort of earthy, almost a mould type of taste - any ideas? Is she just eating more bugs from the ground?

food can alter the taste of an egg - before getting my girls I bought some from a place and they tasted fishy - yuk!!
however if an egg shell is very porous then this can also affect the taste.
Staffies are softer than you think.

i noticed a slight taste difference in my girlies eggs when i changed pellets supplier . only slightly but just shows that it could infact be what yours are eating . Was it a particular wet week so there were more worms eaten ?

Think it may just be me! gave some visitors an egg each and asked if anyone could taste earth and nobody could. They're not the sort to be polite either!
