[Fat Hen]

My chickens auditory descrimination is remarkably good, I was trying to attract their attention to show them off to a friend ( I sometimes tempt them with meal worms, especially if I need to shut them in their pen), not having the tub of meal worms handy I tried shaking a tuppaware tub of dried chillis, they stopped what they were doing briefly and then went back to grazing on the "lawn", I tried a tub of dried fennel seed, no reaction at all.  Resigned to hunting down the tub of mealworms and bingo instantly came running up to me.

I'm sure you'll all be completely underwhelmed by my brief experiment.

not at all mine come running when i shout come here they dont when my mate does it, i can pick up 2 of my hens and put them on my shoulder my mate carnt they run from him so yes chickens can recognise shapes colours <proven , sounds ect.
try putting food on difrent coulerd paper or whatever out of there sight and see which colour they go to first. ( bet its red )
