Where to begin.

The damage to the plant looks a bit like frost damage, but I would have expected all the foliage to show some damage.  here have they been kept?  Potatoes this late should really be in an unheated greenhouse as the cold weather will decimate them.  It could be blight.

The pot they are in is far too small.  Potatoes do not transplant at all well, and there will be little room for tubers to form to a decent size.

When growing in potting compost the nutrients get used up very quickly (especialy from a hungry plant like spuds) and will need to be lightly fed.  It also tends to dry out pretty quickly and will need to be kept topped up with water to keep it damp.

its the devils doing blight is rots and stinks

i dont think anything can be done at this point as its to late...... if you have toms or other unafected plants cull the infected ones and get rid far far away.

Thanks all that's what I was worried about.

I have had some really nice earlies out of these pots been delicious having homegrown potatoes this summer so wanted to try these as it said we could get another crop.

Size has been fine we have been putting two plants in and getting a weeks worth of new spuds out of a tub.

Don't think we have really had any frost yet in Derbyshire, so... I guess it's blight.
No other plants to worry about as the beans are done now.
I'll read up on blight to be better prepared for next year.

Think they're too far gone to be treated.

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

yeah the one looks like a 100% lost cause but by the pics one of the pants looks like it only has a few spots on the leafs here and there. im not sure how quick blight is at spreading never had it before. maybe by the time you get some treatment its going to be tolate

its hard to see what has been effected and how bad Stustaff if you do have a plant with a very mild case then try and treat at least then you may get more spuds. with the plants that are a lost cause get rid far far away from your or other peoples veg. if possible burn it
