J Parker Dutch Bulbs.
« on: September 22, 2010, 09:43 »
Have been looking around for blueberry bushes and raspberry canes, and have found J parker to be very reasonable price wise.

Just wondering if anyone has any previous experience dealing with this company and are they recomended? Cheers!

(And does anyone know the free delivery code for them!!!???)
Start at the beginning, and finish at the end!!

Look at that site very, very carefully.

The price you see is a deposit. There's a further £6.00 plus £6.50 postage to go on top.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I got all my raspberry canes (30 in total, 10 of each variety) and 75 strawberry plants (25 of each variety) and i'm very impressed with them. The delivery took a few weeks, but i ordered at the beginning of April, so i'm assuming that they have to wait for them to grow etc.

They come looking like sticks with clean roots. TBH, i thought they were dead! lol. But planted anyway and they are massive now. I'll get loads off them next year.

Strawberries were great too. Mine ended up giving out runners ( i know they rules, but went away fro a week and there were LOADS by the time we came back) and we have harvested them, so we have loads of plants now. Strawberry jam i think! lol

I'm going to order some blueberry, red current and white current bushes off them. Our friend ordered them when i ordered raspberries and they look great.

My experience of Parkers is that things are often quite small but usually healthy... though the free Azalea with the last order died pretty quickly!

Bought Gojis from them last year - tiny but really strong, have quickly outstripped ones from a Guardian offer

I'm really gutted now that I didn't know about them before. A few weeks back I paid £24.99 for 3 gooseberry bushes from T&M, and I've just discovered that J Parker has 9 bushes (3 each of exact same varieties) for £16.90. How annoying is that.

PS If you're planning on ordering anything from T&M soon, I'd do it before midnight tomorrow and enter discount code NEWWEB in your shopping basket, cos if you do you'll get free P&P.
