They won't grow through winter. They'll do a little before they stall when the really cold weather comes and then start again in spring.

I'd have thought the chances are that they'd run straight to seed.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Sprouts planted out now are far too late to produce a crop Bogwarden.

Oh why Oh why do these garden centres do this???

They say they are the experts and freind of the novice gardener but time and again I see vegetable plants for sale that have no hope of producing a crop because they are way out of season.

What really puzzles me is why professional plant raisers would grow young spout plant so late in the year and why any self respecting garden centre would offer them for sale.

End of rant!!!!

I have seen carrots sold as plug plants in spring (rather expensive too when you consider 1 plug plant = 1 carrot  )  You can sow an overwintering carrot called Nantes Frubund about now ... perhaps that is variety being sold?
Failure is only a temporary change in direction to set you straight for your next success.
Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.

It beggars belief that a garden centre would sell plants so far out of season. They aren't Winter Cabbage per chance? (Still rather late to be planting them)
