Joined to see what I can learn here. I'm new to keeping chickens this year. My chickens are about 6 months old. Two have begun to lay their started eggs. I've seen a totals of seven eggs. I say two have begun to lay because two eggs arrived in one day. It has been over a week since any eggs were laid. Is this odd to start off so slow?

Welcome to the site
As you're asking a question about chickeny things, I'll move your post over to the Hen House. Feel free to pop back into the Welcome forum for a proper welcome (and thanks for adding your location into your profile, it makes a big difference)

Hi Suzette and welcome. Yes when chickens first start laying it can be a bit hit or miss, some will lay in a regular pattern but a lot don't. Don't worry their bodies will sort things out before too long. What breed of hens do you have?

KY is the abbreviation for Kentucky so Paducah is somewhere in that state

We should have a global map on these pages, (mods are you there?) where we could all put a dot for our location.
