There are a few companies that don't charge P&P on seed only orders, DT Brown is one......but they will all charge P&P for things like garlic, onion sets and potato seed to cover postage of heavy items.

If you don't want to pay P&P go to your local garden centre or somewhere like Wilko.
Simples :)

It's just Really Garlicky Co's reputation for good seed just had to be tested this year.
If the results are good, some of the cloves will be saved to plant next year ;)

I believe burying manure then laying soil over it at about 4-6" is recommended. Perhaps do it in winter so that, if it is a bit fresh, it should be ready for spring. With autumn-planted garlic, well-rotted should do with a mulch of more around in spring.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Last year I found really garlicy music garlic on sale in a small grocers shop. This was their own grown garlic, but I would not plant their imported stuff from South America. Different variety.

Another related question - is it really OK to use a previous years garlic as sets for the next year? Mine (over wintered) had a fair amount of rust at harvest time. Is this one reason why I shouldn't use some of them as sets this Autumn?

To be honest, I will probably buy new again - why risk it? But I'm curious all the same.

You're right - buy fresh and don't risk propagating rust in your garden. Rust is already a big problem for many so no point adding to it and perhaps having worse rust next season.

My Porcelain garlic seeds arrived today from Really Garlicky Co and one of them is huge but only has 3 cloves ::) They had better grow well as there aren't many to plant for the money ::)

Grew them last year and they are corkers.

I'm cheating this year and planting the results of last year!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

That's what I hoped to do, but don't know if, at that rate, there will enough to save some for seed

What worries me is how the heck would you use them for cooking? I mean, add one clove of garlic would have a whole new meaning, wouldn't it. :)
